The Safe Light LED Runway Distance Sign L-858B was developed so that pilots can perceive the remaining runway distance quickly and accurately during flight operations. Usable in ICAO CAT I, II, III, FAA and military runway applications, the system combines high visibility, long service life and resistance to harsh field conditions.
Available in single- or double-sided versions, the LED Runway Distance Sign integrates easily into existing runway lighting infrastructure. The LED technology delivers the required photometric performance without reflectors and offers a service life of 60,000 hours at full brightness and over 100,000 hours under low-brightness field conditions.
Its aluminium panel structure, UV- and abrasion-resistant sign surfaces, stainless steel fasteners and matt black exterior coating deliver reliable performance for many years. Operating between -40°C and +55°C, the system withstands wind speeds of up to 322 km/h.
With runway lighting and guidance systems developed to international aviation standards, Safe Light helps keep operational safety at the highest level by night, by day and in low-visibility conditions.
Advanced LED technology provides high light output while reducing energy consumption and maintenance needs. Long service life, a durable housing and compatibility with existing runway lighting systems make it a sustainable and economical solution for operators.
Working with constant current regulators, the system supports five brightness levels across series circuit currents from 2.8 A to 6.6 A, so sign intensity can be adjusted for day, night, fog, rain and low-visibility operations.
